An Update on Gillian – I just spoke with her and she is doing ok right now. She was not feeling safe at home and she finally made the decisive action and left. She is in hiding for fear of any recrimination. As is seen far too often, the person from whom she is fleeing has tried to contact her and promise that things will be alright. But, as of now, she is remaining firm in her determination to escape her life of fear and violence. She could use everyone’s help. Please feel free to post here as a communications board.

Probably everyone is aware of Gillian’s situation by now, but just in case someone’s out of the loop, we’re all hoping and praying for Gillian to be more than safe; we want her to grow past this and live the joyful life she deserves.

Thanks to those of you who blog for putting the word out…I didn’t realize this was going on (to this extent). Gillian, I hope you are safe wherever you are. Do what you’ve got to do for your own safety and sanity. You’re a strong woman – you’ll get through this, but remember that you’ve got a lot of support from a lot of people, us included…don’t be afraid to draw on that when you need to. You’re not alone.
